Will You Hang The Lights I Already Own?
We get asked this every week, so here is the real reasoning instead of a policy line.
Short version
No, and it is not about selling you lights. It is that we cannot insure work on hardware we did not supply, and we cannot guarantee a strand we have never seen the inside of. Both of those protections are things you are hiring us for.
Insurance covers our system, installed our way
Our coverage applies to our materials, installed by our crew, to our standard. The moment we start hanging unknown strands on someone's house, that is uninsured work on your property. Not a technicality. A real exposure, and it lands on your homeowner's policy rather than ours if something goes wrong.
That is a bad trade for you, and it is one most homeowners have never been told about.
We cannot guarantee lights we do not know
We do not know which strand in that bin is on its fourth season. We do not know which plug spent three winters sitting in a gutter full of water. We do not know which run was already dimming last December.
So when a section goes dark on December 18th, we are troubleshooting hardware with no history, on your roof, in the cold. The honest answer to "is this covered?" becomes "we'll have to see." That is exactly the conversation our guarantee exists to prevent.
What we have found up there

What about a special piece I already have?
Call and ask. A specific heirloom piece or a custom sign is a different conversation than a bin of retail strands, and we would rather talk it through than give you a blanket no.
Does that mean I have to buy lights?
No, the opposite. It is an all-inclusive service: we supply, maintain, and store the lights, so you never buy inventory, store it, or replace it in three years.
