Somebody Is About To Climb Your Roof

Before that happens, it is worth knowing who carries the risk. On our jobs, we do.

Are you insured?

Yes. South Custom Lighting is fully insured on every install, residential and commercial. Ask us for a certificate any time and we will send it.

Why this is the question to ask

Christmas light installation has a low barrier to entry. Every November, trucks appear with a ladder and a magnet sign, and a lot of them are working uninsured because coverage costs money and the season is short.

If an uninsured worker falls on your property, that is not a small problem and it does not stay theirs. It becomes a claim against your homeowner's policy. The savings on a cheaper quote disappear about four seconds into that phone call.

So ask. Ask us, and ask anyone else you are considering. A contractor who is covered will send the certificate without hesitating.

Insurance is the backstop, not the plan

Coverage is what handles the day something goes wrong. The better answer is not needing it, and that is where Bill's fire background stops being a marketing line.

Crews work roped to anchors on steep pitches. Ladders are set at the right angle and footed before anyone climbs. Wet roofs wait. These are not rules somebody wrote in a handbook. They are habits from a career where getting them wrong had consequences.

On The Roof

What that looks like in practice

An aluminum extension ladder set and footed at a tree on a North Texas property

Ladders Set Right

Right angle, footed, tied where needed. Nobody climbs a ladder that was leaned in a hurry.

Christmas light clips seated cleanly along a brick gable with nothing nailed or stapled

Careful Is Safe

Clips, never staples or nails. A crew working carefully is the same crew working safely.
