One night, no second chance
Event lighting has a deadline that does not move. That is the whole brief. The lights are up and working before guests arrive, the runs are hidden, nothing is a trip hazard, and nobody is troubleshooting a dark section during the first dance.
We install ahead of the date rather than the morning of, and we stay reachable through the event.
What we install
Bistro and cafe string lighting over patios, courtyards, tents, and pool areas. Uplighting on trees, walls, and architecture. Path and entry lighting so guests can find their way in the dark.
For venues that host regularly, the same install can be built to stay up permanently rather than come down after one event.
The things that go wrong, and how we plan around them
Power is the first one. An outdoor event usually has more draw than the property was wired for, and the failure shows up at the worst moment, when the caterer plugs in and a run goes dark. We work out the load before the date and split circuits rather than hoping.
Weather is the second. North Texas can hand you a warm still evening or a wind that moves anything not properly tensioned. Strings get anchored for the worse version, because taking slack out on the morning of is possible and putting a fallen run back up during a reception is not.
The third is timing, and it is the one people underestimate. Setup has to finish before the rest of the vendors need the space, not alongside them. We schedule ahead of the florist and the caterer rather than working around them, and we stay reachable through the event in case something needs a hand.
Working with venues and other vendors
Venues usually have rules about what can be attached to what, and finding that out on the morning of the event is too late. We contact the venue ahead of the date and work out attachment points, power access and load-in timing.
The other vendors matter as much. Florists, caterers and rental companies all need the same space, and lighting has to be finished before they need it rather than alongside them.
For a private property there is no venue coordinator, which usually makes it simpler but means somebody has to think about power. That is normally us.

Uplighting on trees, walls and architecture to give the space depth beyond the string line, so guests are not standing in a bright pool surrounded by black.
Path and entry lighting so people can find their way in and out safely after dark, which matters more at the end of the evening than at the start.
Install, event, and removal
We install ahead of the date, not on the morning of it. That leaves room to fix anything that does not work rather than discovering it while guests arrive.
Everything gets tested and left on a timer or a switch you control, and somebody walks you through it before we leave.
Removal is scheduled with you afterwards. For a one-off event that is usually the following day; for a venue that wants the install to stay, it simply stays.

Do you install at venues, or only private property?
Both. We work at private homes and at venues, and for venues we can build the install to stay up year-round instead of coming down after a single event.
How far ahead should we book?
As far ahead as you can, especially for dates in the fall and December when our Christmas schedule is also running.
